CaptionCall®
If you have hearing loss, CaptionCall can help you connect with others via telephone. This technology provides written captions of what callers say and is available as a traditional telephone or iPad app.
Because of a mandate under the ADA, CaptionCall is free for people with hearing loss. The service is regulated by the FCC, which reimburses providers from a federally administered fund.
CaptionCall Phone
The CaptionCall Phone displays easy-to-read captions on its 7-inch screen. It dials and rings like a regular phone, with the added benefit of a visual ringer feature that causes the screen to flash during incoming calls. Additional features include:
- Touch to call
- Save conversation transcription
- Telecoil loop connection
- Set up with a wired or wireless internet connection
CaptionCall Mobile
CaptionCall Mobile allows you to use your iPad as a phone. With this technology, you will be able to understand every word of every phone call no matter where you are.
To use CaptionCall Mobile, you’ll need a CaptionCall account, an Apple® iPad® 2 or later and a Wi-Fi or cellular Internet connection.
Cell Phone Accessories
Through Bluetooth® technology, your hearing aids can connect to other electronics like your cell phone. All major cell phone manufacturers are now required to make HAC cell phones available to hearing aid users, and many have HAC cell phone accessories available as well. Some accessories offer hands-free cell phone usage, and others allow you to control your hearing aid settings via your phone.
